TAKESHI CUP – Championship Description

The TAKESHI CUP is a prestigious martial arts championship conducted under the inspiration and guidance of Soke Takeshi Kitagawa, celebrating the true spirit of traditional Budo, discipline, respect, and excellence. Established to create a professional and inspiring platform for martial artists, the championship brings together practitioners from different regions, styles, and age categories in an atmosphere of healthy competition and mutual respect.

The tournament was first introduced in Kalpetta in 2017 through the vision and dedication of Kyoshi Arun Dev, with the strong support of Kyoshi Gireesh Perumthatta. Since its inception, the TAKESHI CUP has stood as a symbol of unity, technical excellence, and martial arts tradition. After a brief hiatus, the championship has returned stronger than ever, continuing its mission of nurturing talent and promoting authentic martial arts values.

The TAKESHI CUP 2026 Colour Belt Categories are thoughtfully designed to provide young and emerging martial artists with a competitive platform that encourages growth, confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship. The championship includes divisions for Kiddies, Sub-Juniors, Cadets, Juniors, and Seniors, ensuring fair and structured competition according to age and weight categories. Participants will compete in Individual Kata and Kumite events under professionally managed tournament standards, allowing athletes to demonstrate their technical skill, fighting spirit, and dedication to Karate-Do.

 

Conducted under the banner of Nihon Shotokan Karate-Do SANKUKAI (R), the event aims to nurture the next generation of martial artists while promoting the traditional values of respect, perseverance, humility, and self-discipline. The championship includes divisions for Sub-Junior, Cadet, Junior, and Senior Black Belt competitors, offering a highly competitive platform for athletes to showcase their mastery in Individual Kata and Kumite events.
